KB233669: Schema is not properly updated after updating schema in MicroStrategy Command Manager

This document has been classified as a defect by MicroStrategy. The issue occurs in MicroStrategy Command Manager when trying to update the schema for a project.

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Command Manager 9.4.1 - 10.0, the schema is not always properly updated after running the following command:


UPDATE SCHEMA REFRESHSCHEMA RECALTABLEKEYS RECALTABLELOGICAL FOR PROJECT “Strategy Tutorial”;

 
Command Manager says that the schema was properly updated.

Schema objects in project "..." have been updated successfully.

 
However, when users try to run reports in the project, they get errors such as the following:

Error: SQLEngine got an Exception from DFC: [DFCENGINE] Engine Logic: Fact does not exist at a level that can support the requested analysis. 

 
CAUSE:
This issue occurs when updating schema in Command Manager. This is a known issue classified as a defect with Strategy Command Manager 9.4.1 - 10.0.
 
ACTION:
This issue has been fixed in Strategy 10.1. Upgrade to that version to take advantage of this fix.
 
WORKAROUND:
Users can run the update schema command a second time in Strategy Command Manager. Alternatively, users can update schema in Strategy Developer.
 
The Strategy Internal Reference Number for the issue discussed in this technical note is 1014717.
