KB235270: "IndexOutOfBoundsException" error occurs when executing a report that contains multiple joins against SalesForce using MicroStrategy provided SalesForce ODBC driver in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1

When a user tries to execute a report with multiple joins against SalesForce database with MicroStrategy's certified Data Direct SalesForce ODBC Driver version 7.1, the following error may occur in both Developer and DB Query Tool environment.

SUMMARY:
This issue is classified as a defect with Strategy Technical Support. This will hinder users from executing a report that contains multiple joins against SalesForce database using Strategy provided Data Direct's SalesForce ODBC Driver version 7.1. The error occurs both in Strategy's reporting environment and in DB Query Tool when running the report SQL.
 
SYMPTOM:
 
When a user tries to execute a report with multiple joins against SalesForce database with Strategy's certified Data Direct SalesForce ODBC Driver version 7.1, the following error may occur in both Developer and DB Query Tool environment:
 


Error: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException

 
CAUSE:
 
This is a known issue in Strategy 9.4.1. 
 
WORKAROUND:
If user's operating system is Windows, Strategy OpenAccess ODBC Driver for SalesForce 6.00.06.63 32 bit ODBC driver may be used.
 
ACTION:
 
Currently this issue is still being reviewed for feasibility by our Technology team and it is not scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release.
 
 
The Strategy Internal Reference Number for the issue discussed in this technical note is 1014902.
