KB235402: Hyperlinks created using Edit Links are not functional in PDF exports in MicroStrategy Web 10.x

• Strategy

SYMPTOM
In Strategy Web 10.x, users can create hyperlinks on objects using either Edit Links or Properties & Formatting: Is Hyperlink. However, when exported to PDF, the links created using Edit Links do not work, while those created using Is Hyperlink do.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  1. Create a document in Strategy Web with 2 text boxes.
  2. Add an Edit Links link to one of the text boxes, and a Properties & Formatting: Is Hyperlink link to the other.
  3. Run the document. Notice both links are functional.
  4. Export the document to PDF. Notice only the Is Hyperlink link still works.

CAUSE
This is a current limitation in Strategy Web 10.x. A request has been logged to address this issue.

ACTION
Currently this issue is still being reviewed for feasibility by our Technology team and it is not scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release.

WORKAROUND
As a workaround, users can utilize the Properties & Formatting: Is Hyperlink links instead of Edit Links.
