KB236236: Subtotals are not calculated correctly for non-aggregatable metrics when using multiple cubes as datasets on a Report Services document in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1

SUMMARY
This document details an issue while calculating subtotals for non-aggregatable metrics (i.e. End of Hand or similar) when using multiple cubes as datasets on a Report Services document in Strategy 9.4.1.
 
SYMPTOM
For non-aggregatable metrics (e.g. "End of Hand"), the Total subtotal is calculated as the sum of all the values instead of the expected value (e.g. the value of the last element on the list). This happens only when using multiple cubes as datasets on a document in Strategy 9.4.1.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
The steps below are based on the Strategy Tutorial project
 

1. Create two reports with attributes: "Year", "Quarter", "Month", "Category".
2. In report R1 place only "End On Hand" metric. In report R2 place "Units Sold" metric.
3. Open Strategy Web and create a new Visual Insight Dashboard or a Report Services document.
4. Add both R1 and R2 as datasets on the document.
5. Add a grid with all the attributes and both metrics.
6. Enable Totals for every attribute on the grid.
7. It can be observed that the totals for "Units Sold" return the correct values while "End On Hand" returns incorrect data (the metric values are all added instead using the last metric value).

 
 
CAUSE
This is a known issue with the cube join feature in Visual Insight Dashboards/Report Services documents for non-aggregatable metrics. 
 
ACTION
This issue has been addressed in Strategy 9.4.1 Hotfix 8.Upgrade to this version to take advantage of the fix.
