KB236325: In what order are Intelligent Cubes loaded upon startup in MicroStrategy?

Community Admin

• Strategy

SUMMARY:
This technical note describes how Intelligent Cubes are loaded into memory at Intelligence Server startup for a given project when the "Load Intelligent Cubes on startup" setting is selected.

QUESTION:
In what order are Intelligent Cubes loaded upon startup in Strategy 9.x?

ANSWER:
The Strategy Intelligence Server uses 1 thread for each project that is set to load Intelligent Cubes upon startup. The Intelligence Server loads all Intelligent Cubes that were loaded during previous shutdown or until the memory governing limit for Intelligent Cubes is reached.

The order of loading Intelligent Cube caches is according to the order that the Intelligent Cubes are defined in the Pool table. The entries in the Pool table are randomly assigned their order by hashing the Intelligent Cube ID.
