KB236667: Exporting a grid in Outline mode to Excel that has one column width set to zero results in only displaying the column headers in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1 Hotfix 5

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Web 9.4.1 Hotfix 5, a user can choose to display a grid in a Report Services Document in Outline Mode. However, when setting one column of that grid to a width of zero, and exporting to Excel, no data is displayed. In the image below, the results of the excel export show a blank grid with only the column headers.

 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow these steps to reproduce the issue in a Strategy Tutorial project.

• Create a document.
• Add a grid with formatting, as shown below:
  

• Edit the grid from above by going into Properties and Formatting > Layout, and selecting Outline.
• Change the column width of the left most attribute to 0. See the column width setting in the image below.
  

• Run the document and export it to Excel.
• Now the Excel document will show a grid with only the column headers.
• Increase the column size, and the grid will display correctly, as shown below.
  

 
CAUSE:
This is a known issue with Strategy Web 9.4.1 Hotfix 5.
 
ACTION:
Currently this issue is still being reviewed  by our Technology team and it is not currently scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release.
