KB236769: Error message "ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [rwoirw: check ret val], [],[],[],[],[],[]…" is displayed when running reports in the Enterprise Manager project against an Oracle 11g database, release 11.2.0.4.0.

SUMMARY
This document explains how to address the error message: "ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [rwoirw: check ret val], [],[],[],[],[],[]…" that is received when running reports against an Oracle 11g/11gR2 database. 
 
SYMPTOM
When running Strategy Enterprise Manager report against an Oracle 11g/11gR2 database, the following error message is displayed: 
 

"ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [rwoirw: check ret val], [],[],[],[],[],[]…" 

 
Note: This issue can be possibly seen in any project and is not specific to the Strategy Enterprise Manager project. 
 
CAUSE
Per Strategy's analysis, the source of the error message lies on the Oracle 11g/11gR2 database side. It's cause may be best determined by contacting Oracle.
 
ACTION
While this error message might be fixed by installing the latest Oracle patches, in case this is not immediately possible, the following workaround can be applied on the Strategy side:
1) Edit the report displaying the error message.
2) Go to Data > VLDB Properties
3) Go to the Report Pre/Post Statements Category and select Report Pre-Statement # (# can be any number from 1 to 5 depending on the current usage of the Report Pre-Statements).
4) The following SQL statements should be added at the beginning of the SQL execution:
 

alter session set query_rewrite_enabled=false;

alter session set "_query_rewrite_vop_cleanup"=false;

alter session set "_complex_view_merging"=false;

alter session set optimizer_features_enable = "11.1.0.7";

*Note in instances where the above entries cause the report execution to fail with a syntax error, use only the below statement:
 

alter session set optimizer_features_enable = "11.1.0.7"

 
5) Save and close.
6) Run the report again.
