KB236810: Attributes still exist in the document dependency list even if the dataset has been removed from the document in MicroStrategy Analytics Developer 9.4.1

Attributes still exist in the document dependency list even if the dataset has been removed from the document in MicroStrategy Analytics Developer 9.4.1

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Document path: Strategy Tutorial\Public Objects\Reports\Dashboards and Scorecards\Category Management Dashboard
Its dataset path: Strategy Analytics Modules\Strategy Tutorial\Public Objects\Reports\Strategy Platform Capabilities\Strategy Report Services\Datasets\Category Management Dashboard\Category Performance Dataset

  • In Tutorial Project, edit the document \Strategy Tutorial\Public Objects\Reports\Dashboards and Scorecards\Category Management Dashboard in Web;
  • Remove attributes and metrics from grids, selectors and texts;
  • Remove the dataset from document;
  • Check the document dependency and still Category and Month are in the list:

CAUSE:
The dependency issue is caused by the view filter as shown below, which is defined in the grid "Movies Performance Graph". Removing datasets/attributes/metrics will not remove this view filter definition, and thus why attribute Month and Category still exist in the document dependency list.

ACTION:
Remove the view filter before deleting the dataset from document.
