KB240221: Double minus sign appears when exporting report with negative value in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.1 in Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack1

SUMMARY:  
This document shows one known issue that double minus sign appears in exported text file in Strategy Developer in Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack1 if the formart in Region and Language is set to Swedish (Sweden). The workaround is to set the format to other languages, such as English (United States). 
 
SYMPTOM:  
Double minus sign appears when exporting report with negative value in Strategy Developer 9.4.1 in Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack1 if the format in Region and Language is set to Swedish (Sweden).
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

• In Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack1 with Strategy Developer 9.4.1 installed, set format to Swedish (Sweden) in Region and Language as shown below:
  

• In Strategy Tutorial project, create one report with metric Cost and derived metric Negative Cost = Cost*(-1).
• Format Negative Cost to fixed decimals with minus sign as shown below:
  

• The report with negative metric value is as shown below:
  

• Export the report to text file. Double minus sign appears for the negative value as shown below:
  

 
CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy Developer 9.4.1.
 
ACTION:
Contact Strategy Technical Support for the latest update on this issue.
 
WORKAROUND:
Change the format in Region and Language to other languages, such as English (United States) as shown below:
