KB247965: Pie Charts based on custom groups display as separate circles in Visual Insight in MicroStrategy Mobile 10

SUMMARY:
This Technical Note describes how in a Visual Insight Dashboard, pie charts with custom groups will display as separate circles in Strategy Mobile 10 on an iPad.
SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Web 10, when creating a dashboard in Visual Insight with a Pie chart, custom groups will display as different slices in one pie, as shown below.

However, when the same dashboard is displayed in Strategy Mobile 10, they will display as separate circles for each custom group, as shown below.

 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow these steps to reproduce the issue in a Strategy Tutorial Project:

1. Create custom groups with an attribute.
2. Create a report with those custom groups and add a metric.
3. Create a Visual Insight Dashboard and add a pie chart.
4. Run in Strategy Web 10. The slices appear in the same pie chart.
5. View the dashboard in Strategy Mobile on an iPad. The pie chart displays incorrectly as separate circles.

 
CAUSE:
This is an identified defect in Strategy Mobile 10.
 
ACTION:
Currently this issue is still being reviewed  by our Technology team and it is not currently scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release.
