KB248684: "java.io.FileNotFoundException cannot be cast to com.microstrategy.web.objects.WebObjectsRuntimeException" error occurs when running RS Document or VI Dashboard using MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1 with Windows Authentication

Task encountered a null pointer exception: com.Strategy.web.app.utils.ExpressionHelper.copyOperators

 
When attempting to open a Report Services document the following error is displayed:

java.io.FileNotFoundException cannot be cast to com.Strategy.web.objects.WebObjectsRuntimeException

 
This issue only occurs when Windows authentication is the only authentication mode enabled in IIS for Strategy Web.
 
CAUSE
This issue is caused by the lack of read permissions of the AD user account to the Common Files\Strategy directory on the machine hosting Strategy Web ASP.
 
 ACTION
Ensure that users accessing Strategy Web have permissions to read files within Common Files\Strategy.
