KB248759: How To Add A Custom Image To The MicroStrategy Web Login Page Using MicroStrategy Web SDK

SUMMARY: A user may want to add a custom image to the login page of Strategy Web for presentation purpose. This can be done using Strategy Web SDK 9.4.1-10

Follow these steps to achieve this customization:

1. Create a new transform that extends the LoginXHTMLTransform class 
2. Overrride the renderLoginDialog(MarkupOutput out) method
3. Add a div to display the image to the output as follows:
   

   
       public void renderLoginDialog(com.Strategy.web.beans.MarkupOutput out) {
           MarkupOutput originalMarkup = WebBeanFactory.getInstance().newMarkupOutput();
           super.renderLoginDialog(originalMarkup) ;
           String orgOut = originalMarkup.getCopyAsString();
           String newOutput = "<div><img src=\"http://assets.worldwildlife.org/photos/2325/images/hero_small/mountains-hero.jpg?1345838509\" style=\"width:304px;height:228px\"></div>" + orgOut;
           out.append(newOutput);
   
       }
   

   
   
4. Use this new transform for the LoginStyle located in the Web Customization Editor under Styles
5. Restart the server to apply the change
