KB248943: Direct access to reports\documents\dashboards with URL API uid and pwd is not working for MicroStrategy Web 10.0

This technical note describes an identified defect in MicroStrategy Web 10.0 where direct access to reports\documents\dashboards with URL API uid and pwd is not working. This defect has been fixed in MicroStrategy Web 10.1. Upgrade to take advantage of this fix.

SYMPTOM:
Direct access to reports\documents\dashboards with URL API uid and pwd is not working for Strategy Web 10.0.
In 9.4.1 or earlier version, below URL API can be added to the share link of a report/document/dashboard to avoid answering the Strategy credetial for standard authentication:


&uid=<user name>&pwd=<password>

Below is an example of the URL:


http://<servername>/MicroStrategy/asp/Main.aspx?evt=2048001&src=Main.aspx.2048001&visMode=0¤tViewMedia=1&documentID=<documentID>&server=<server>&Project=<projectname>&port=0&share=1&uid=<user name>&pwd=<password>

However in Strategy 10.0, the running the same URL returns below error:

CAUSE:
This is a known issue with Strategy Web 10.0
ACTION:
This issue has been fixed in Strategy Web 10.1. Take advantage of upgrading for a fix..
