KB259517: "Web user" privilege is required for Mobile user to log in for MicroStrategy Mobile 10.

Mobile users require the "Web user" privilege to be able to log in to MicroStrategy Mobile.

SYMPTOM:
The "Web user" privilege is required for a Mobile user to log in for Strategy Mobile 10.0. Without this privilege, users logging from Mobile app will receive the below error:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow the steps below to reproduce the issue:

  • In Strategy 10, create a user with only Mobile and Common Privileges.

  • Log in from Mobile app. This user cannot log in.
  • Edit the user and add "web user" privilege under Web. Then the user can log in from Mobile app.

CAUSE:
This is an identified defect in Strategy Mobile 10.0.
  
ACTION:
This issue has been addressed in Strategy Mobile 10.1. Upgrade to this version to take advantage of this fix.
 
The Strategy Internal Reference Number for the issue discussed in this technical note is DE14631.
