SYMPTOM
During the Data Import process, users attempt to use the Data Wrangle feature but find that the Data Wrangle interface hangs for a few minutes, then returns an error message similar to the following:


Notification
Encounter error when wrangling your data.

In addition, there are no errors in the Strategy Web log or in the Strategy IServer DSSErrors.log.

CAUSE
This issue occurs when Strategy 10.0 is upgraded to Strategy 10.1 on Windows environments. This issue does not occur when Strategy 10.1 is installed from scratch, or if Strategy 10.0 is upgraded to Strategy 10.1 on Unix environments. This issue is caused by lingering libraries from 10.0 that are no longer needed in 10.1, and which are not properly cleaned up during the upgrade.

ACTION
This issue has been addressed in Strategy Version 10.2. Please upgrade to take advantage of the fix.

WORKAROUND
Method 1:
Manually delete the old libraries. From \Intelligence Server\openrefine\webapp\WEB-INF\lib, delete the following files:

jcl-over-slf4j-1.5.6.jar
slf4j-api-1.5.6.jar
slf4j-log4j12-1.5.6.jar

From \Intelligence Server\openrefine\server\lib, delete the following files:

servlet-api-2.5.jar
slf4j-api-1.5.6.jar
jetty-6.1.22.jar
jetty-util-6.1.22.jar
slf4j-log4j12-1.5.6.jar

Method 2:
Uninstall Strategy 10.0, then install Strategy 10.1 from scratch.
