Dashboard Startup
Error #2028

CAUSE:
This is a known issue caused by changes introduced in Adobe Flash Player 19.

ACTION:
This issue is addressed in Adobe Flash Player 20 released by Adobe on December 8, 2015. Upgrade to this version of Flash Player to take advantage of the fix. According to Adobe, "Current Flash Player customers who have enrolled in the 'Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended)' update mechanism will be automatically updated to the latest version of Flash Player over the next 24 hours." For more information on this release, refer to the Adobe Release Notes here: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/release-note/fp_20_air_20_release_notes.html

WORKAROUND:
There are two workarounds to this issue:

  • Following steps 1-4 from KB30398 regarding configuring Adobe Flash security settings have been shown to workaround this issue in some cases for end users with Adobe Flash Player 19.x installed. These steps should be followed on every end user machine that has this unsupported version of Flash.

Or

  • In Strategy Developer, select the project which contains your document or dashboard you would like to export to Flash and navigate to Project Configuration > Project definition > Export Settings. From the Export to Flash file format option, select PDF, like shown below:

Restart the web server for the change to take affect, then export the document or dashboard to Flash. The document or dashboard will be downloaded as a PDF file. Launch the PDF file in a supported PDF viewer (e.g. Adobe Acrobat Reader 11.x) and observe that some Flash functionality is retained. The minimum version of Adobe Acrobat Reader required for Flash functionality to be retained is Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.2.

Follow the following instructions to find the version of Flash Player being used on a machine
1. Navigate to "Manage add-ons", like shown below:
