KB26294: When the email subscription delivered to multiple recipients is triggered, there are multiple jobs created and queried against data warehouse concurrently if the report cache is not enabled in MicroStrategy Distribution Service

SYMPTOM
In Strategy Distribution Service 10.x, when the email subscription delivered to multiple recipients is triggered, if the report cache is not enabled from Project configuration and no valid report cache exists, there are multiple jobs created and queried against data warehouse concurrently, which may cause the high Database load, as shown below.

CAUSE
Currently, this is working by design.
When creating an email subscription which is delivered to multiple recipients, the Intelligence Server will create multiple jobs for multiple recipients. If there is a valid report cache exists, all these jobs will hit the cache. But if there is no cache exists, the behaviors are different based on whether the cache is enabled or not.

• If the cache is not enabled, the multiple jobs will query against data warehouse concurrently, as described in Symptom Section.
• If the cache is enabled, one job will execute against the data warehouse and the other jobs are waiting for cache, as shown below.

ACTION
Enable cache from Project configuration. Then trigger the email subscription which is delivered to multiple recipients. Multiple jobs are created, and only one job executes against the data warehouse and the other jobs are waiting for cache.
