This article describes a known issue in MicroStrategy Web 10.x with using the new Facebook Data Import feature.

SUMMARY:
This article describes a known issue in Strategy Web 10.x with using the new Facebook Data Import feature. 
SYMPTOM:
Starting with Strategy Analytics Enterprise 10, Facebook is one of the new data sources available for Data Import. However, users will notice that after preparing Strategy Web for importing data from Facebook per the steps in KB204764, the search for pages returns zero likes, as shown below:

The Diary () 0 likes Filter post data by date...

If users continue the Data Import process and attempt to publish the cube, they receive the following error:

Error importing results from Facebook.

 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 

  1. Create an app for Strategy in Facebook per the steps in KB204764.
  2. Collect the App ID, App Secret, and callback URL from this app.
  3. Log into Strategy Web 10 through HTTPS.
  4. Select 'Add External Data', hover over Facebook to select 'Set OAuth Parameters'.
  5. Enter the App ID, App Secret, and callback URL from step 2.
  6. Accept the terms to connect to your Facebook.
  7. Search for any page, such as 'The Diary'.
  8. Notice all pages display '0 likes'.
  9. Attempt to Finish or Prepare Data.
  10. Notice the error message displays.

CAUSE:
This issue is classified as a defect in Strategy Analytics Enterprise 10.
  ACTION:
This issue has been fixed in Strategy Web 10.2. Take advantage of upgrading for a fix.
