SUMMARY:
This document shows one known issue that "You do not have the permission to modify this object" error appears when attempting to save Intelligent Cube via Data Import in Strategy Web 10.1. The root cause is Everyone group with View permission is removed from Access Cotrol List (ACL) of some system graph style objects. Adding Everyone group with view permission back into ACL of folder \Public Objects\GraphStyles and replacing all children's ACL should resolve the issue.

SYMPTOM:

Error in saving the cube. Details:
com.Strategy.webapi.MSTRWebAPIException: (You don not have
Use access to the GraphStyle object 'VerticalBar (9.3.2)'.)

CAUSE:
By default, Access Cotrol List (ACL) of system graph style objects under hidden folder \Public Objects\GraphStyles should contain Everyone group with View permission. But Everyone group might have been removed from ACL of these objects and thus the user has no Use permission on these objects.

ACTION:

  • In Strategy Developer>Tools>Preferences, enable “Display hidden objects”. This could make folder \Public Objects\GraphStyles visible in Developer.
  • In properties of folder \Public Objects\GraphStyles, add Everyone group with view permission on object and children in ACL and check “Apply changes in permissions to all children objects” and “Overwrite children’s access control lists” as shown below:
