KB274016: Attributes with HTML tags display the tags as clear text when used as a filter in Visual Insight in MicroStrategy Web 10.x.

• Strategy

SYMPTOM:
HTML tags can be used in attribute definitions to enhance the formatting display of an attribute element. When one such attribute, with an HTML tag on one of the attribute forms, is used in Visual Insight as a filter, the HTML tag formatting does not render. The formatting will display as clear text, instead, as shown below, in Strategy 10.x.

  2. Create a new Visual Insight dashboard using that report as the dataset.
  3. Right-click the attribute and select 'Add to filter'.
  4. Navigate to the filter tab. Notice that the HTML tag is not rendered.
