KB274852: Dropdown selectors no longer allow typing to select elements in Presentation mode in MicroStrategy Web 10.1

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Web 9.4.1, users could create Report Services documents with drop down selectors. When the documents were executed in any mode, the user could double click on the selector to activate it, i.e. the drop down would expand and collapse, but the selector would be highlighted. At this point, if the user started typing, the selector would jump to the element that contained the characters as they were being typed. However, in Strategy Web 10, Presentation mode, this no longer works. Typing in the drop down selector results in no action. This continues to work in Editable mode.
In Strategy Web 9.4.1, Express mode:
Notice the blue highlight in the selector after double clicking on it. At this point, the users can type.
In Strategy Web 10.1, Presentation mode:
Notice that even after double clicking the selector, it does not appear highlighted. Typing results in no action. 
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow these steps to reproduce the issue in a Strategy Tutorial Project.

1. In Strategy Web 9.4.1, create a new report with at least one attribute.
2. Convert it into a document.
3. Add a drop down selector based off the attribute that targets the grid.
4. Run the document in Express mode.
5. Double click the selector to expand and collapse the dropdown and to activate it.
6. Type the name of an element that exists in the grid. Notice the selector will jump to select that element automatically. This works in every mode.
7. Repeat steps 1-6 in Strategy Web 10.1, but run in Presentation mode. Notice nothing happens when typing.

 
CAUSE:
This is an identified defect in Strategy Web 10.1.
 
ACTION:
Currently this issue is still being reviewed for feasibility by our Technology team and it is not scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release.
