KB275982: MDX Cube objects are greyed out when creating a report using the ‘Create’ option in MicroStrategy Web 10.1

SUMMARY:
This article describes a known issue with creating a MDX Cube Report through Strategy Web 10.1.
 
SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Web, the home screen gives users the option to select ‘Create’ to create a new MDX Cube Report. After selecting a data source, the MDX objects are greyed out and not available for manipulation to place in the report.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. In Strategy Web, create a new MDX Cube Report using the red ‘Create’ option.

 
 
2. Navigate to the MDX Objects
 
3. Select a data source
4. Drill down to the objects that will be placed on the report
5. Objects are greyed out and not available for selection
 
 
 
CAUSE:
This is an identified defect with Strategy when selecting the red ‘Create’ option in Web.
 
ACTION:
This defect has been fixed in Strategy 10.2. Upgrade to take advantage of the fix.
 
WORKAROUND:
Select ‘Create Report’ to build a new MDX Cube Report. MDX objects can be accessed through this method.
