A yellow attribute icon is shown (instead of the new green colour icon) for shortcut objects pointing to locked attributes in a qualification prompt that uses the results of a search object in MicroStrategy Web.

SUMMARY:
This issue has been classified as a defect by Strategy. The impact is limited to Strategy Web 10.x product only if a user has a locked attribute in Strategy Desktop 10.x from which a shortcut attribute is created that is also locked. A workaround is available in the current document. A code fix for this issue was also made available in Strategy 10.4.

SYMPTOM:
If a user has a locked attribute in Strategy Desktop 10.x from which a shortcut attribute is created that is also locked, the old yellow attribute icon appears when it is included in a prompt that uses the results of a search object, as shown below:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow the steps below to reproduce this issue in the Strategy Tutorial project for reference:
1.In Strategy Developer 10.x, browse to an attribute.
2.Lock the attribute by opening the attribute editor > Display > Element Display, and selecting "Locked"
3.Create a shortcut object to that attribute in the same folder by right clicking on the attribute and selecting "Create Shortcut".
4.Create a search object that includes the folder where the attribute and the shortcut are located, but only includes attribute and shortcut objects
5.Create a new Qualification Prompt object on the attribute used in Step 1.
6.Choose to 'Use the results of a search object ' and chose the search object created in step 4.
7.Create a report with the attribute and prompt created in Steps 1 and 5.
8.Save the report and run it in Strategy Web 10.x. Notice the shortcut attribute is missing the "attribute" icon.
CAUSE:
This is an identified defect in Strategy Web 10.x
ACTION:
This issue has been addressed in Strategy 10.4; please update to this version to receive this fix.
WORKAROUND:
Follow any of these recommendations to make sure the icon displays correctly in Strategy Web 10.x:
1.Unlock the attribute and restart the Web Server.
2.Use the attribute itself in the prompt instead of a shortcut to the attribute.
3.Do not use the results of a search object when defining the prompt object.
