Users with "Browse" permission cannot view Access Control List of objects in MicroStrategy Developer 10.x

SUMMARY:
This document shows known issue that users with Browse permission cannot view Access Control List (ACL) of objects in Strategy Developer 10.x. This is due to enhanced security model in 10.x that users need Browse, Read and Control permission to view ACL.

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Developer 9.x, users with only Browse permission in Access Control List (ACL) of objects could view ACL of those objects. But, after upgrading to Strategy Developer 10.x, such users cannot view ACL anymore.

CAUSE:
This behavior is by design. Starting from 10, Strategy enhanced security model that only users with Browse, Read and Control permission on objects could view ACL of those objects.

ACTION:
Grant users Browse, Read and Control permission.
