SYMTOM:
When passing element prompt answers dynamically via edit links, in Strategy Web 10.2, the user gets reprompted when the attribute element being selected has an attribute id that contains a special character such as a comma, colon, or ampresand.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- Edit the subcategory table in the Strategy 10.2 MetaData.
- Change the attribute ID to a string value.
- Add an ampersand character '&' in between one of the Subcategory values.
- Save the changes.
- Create a report in Strategy Web 10.2 that includes the Subcategory values.
- Change the attribute form to only show the ID.
- Create a source document based off of this report.
- Create another report with the subcategory attribute and make this prompted on the ID form.
- Create a destination report based of the prompted report.
- In the source report create an Edit Link to run the destination document and set the option in the Edit Link to "Answer Dynamically".
- Run the source report and click on the Subcategory element that has the ampersand '&', notice the destination document will not have that value passed.
