The following knowledge base article describes a known issue during the Enterprise Manager Dataload while moving data from STG_* tables to the statistics tables. A workaround is provided.

SYMPTOM
When running a data load in Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.x, the process may fail while moving data from STG_* tables to statistics tables with an message similar to below:

<log4j:message type ="DEFAULT"><![CDATA[Statistics migration failed, Please check DSSErrors.log for more details]]></log4j:message>
</log4j:event>

There are no other relevent errors logged in the DSSErrors.log nor in EM Migration traces.

CAUSE
This is a known issue in Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.x. The issue occurs since the internal table has its precision incorrectly set to 500. Any character columns over that limit will cause the process to fail. This is usually seen in the PR_ANSWERS column of STG_IS_PR_ANS_STATS or SQLSTATEMENT in STG_IS_REP_SQL_STATS but may effect other columns as well.

ACTION
This issue has been fixed in Strategy 10.3 Hotfix 2 and also in Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.4. Upgrade to one of these versions to take advantage of the fix.

WORKAROUND
As a workaround, users can delete the affected rows or truncate the affected columns which length exceeds 500 characters.

The Strategy internal reference number for this case is DE30896
