This document describes an issue that occurs due to a metadata inconsistency in the Intelligence Server configuration, and which is exposed through MicroStrategy Developer 10.x.

SUMMARY:
This document describes an issue that occurs due to a metadata inconsistency in the Intelligence Server configuration, and which is exposed through Strategy Developer 10.x.
 
SYMPTOM:
When accessing a project source LDAP settings, the following error appears:

Object variable or With block variable not set

 
Once the error message is accepted, all the LDAP settings appear as blank.
 
CAUSE:
This behavior occurs due to a metadata inconsistency in which a Device object has lost its link to a Transmitter.
 
ACTION:
Please contact Strategy Technical Support for further assistance on deleting the faulty Device object.  In order to track down the cause of the inconsistency, customers encountering this issue should make note of related object manipulations, Object Migrations, or error messages prior to experiencing the problem.  Change Journaling, if it has been enabled, can help in preserving this information.
 
WORKAROUND:
These settings can be seen in Command Manager, by running the following outline:

LIST ALL PROPERTIES FOR SERVER CONFIGURATION;
