pecial characters (^ or !) not being displayed in the File Name after the file subscription on a schedule is created in MicroStrategy 9.x or 10.x.

SUMMARY:
This technical note addresses special characters (^ or !) not being displayed in the File Name after the file subscription on a schedule is created in Strategy 9.x or 10.x.

SYMPTOM:
Create a file subscription, on a schedule other than “Send Now”, with a ^ or ! in the File Name in Strategy 9.x or 10.x.

When editing the subscription, the special character (^ or !) will no longer exist in the File Name.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Create a new file subscription for a report.
  2. In subscription editor, specify a file name that uses either the character ^ or ! in the name (Ex: File Export Request [^] Details).
  3. Specify a schedule for the subscription to run on except for “Send Now”.
  4. Add report parameter values if available and select OK to complete subscription creation.
