This community article details how users can setup a SNC - SAP Cryptographic Library connection between the MicroStrategy Intelligence Server Intelligence Server Cluster 10.3 and newer on a Microsoft Windows operating system platform. This is a "Server - Side Trust" connection, in which the SAP instance trusts the user ID used for the connection without any credentials being validated.

This community article details how users can setup a SNC - SAP Cryptographic Library connection between the Strategy Intelligence Server Intelligence Server Cluster 10.3 and newer on a Microsoft Windows operating system platform. This is a "Server - Side Trust" connection, in which the SAP instance trusts the user ID used for the connection without any credentials being validated.
Prerequisite:
1. A Strategy cluster environment with machine A and machine B. (Also works for a cluster have more than 2 machines). A and B both have Windows Server 2012 R2 and Strategy Intelligence Server (I-Server) 10.3 or newer installed.
2. SAP SNC was well configured at SAP server side.

Configuration Steps:
1. Follow KB38303 (step1 to step 11) on machine A.
2. Start transaction SU01 on SAP, create a new user or edit an existing user, for example 'UserA', and add the SNC name (for I-server) created in step1. Save the entry. (For more detail, refer to Maintaining SNC Information for Dialog Users)
3. Add a new user in the project on the I-server which should match with the user name in step 2 ('UserA' in this case).
4. Log into the project on machine A with user created in step 3, open the 'MDX Cube Catalog' of the Database Instance created in step 1. SAP cubes should appear if everything works fine.
5. Copy the whole folder 'SAP_SNC' on machine A to machine B, set the environment variable 'SECUDIR' on machine B with the path of the 'sec' folder. Add the path of 'SAP_SNC' folder to PATH environment variable on machine B.
6. Log into the project on machine B with user created in step 3, open the 'MDX Cube Catalog' of the Database Instance created in step 1. SAP cubes should appear if everything works fine.
