KB30005: “StartUpManager::StartUpManager(): LoadServerDef failed. Return code: 0x80041404” error occurs when attempting to start MicroStrategy Intelligence Server Universal after the metadata database user password has changed

Additionally, the DSSErrors.log shows the following error:
 

 
 

[DataDirect][ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol driver][Oracle]ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

 
 
NOTE: The error message described above is specific to Oracle databases. The error message will change according to the type of database used for the metadata.
 
CAUSE:
The metadata database user password was changed on the database server and this change was not applied to the server definition used by Strategy Intelligence Server Universal 9.4.x-10.x. When attempting the start, the old password is used to establish a connection to the metadata database causing the above mentioned error.
 
ACTION:
Use the Strategy Configuration Wizard to update the metadata database username and password for the server definition. For details on how to use the Strategy Configuration Wizard consult the 'Installation and Configuration Guide'.
