KB300824: ODBC error about table does not exist is encountered when using MicroStrategy Analytics Desktop against an Enterprise 10 environment that has table prefixes in MicroStrategy 10

ODBC error about table does not exist is encountered when using MAD against an Enterprise 10 environment that has table prefixes in MicroStrategy 10

SYMPTOM:
An ODBC error is encountered when trying to run dashboards in Strategy Analytics Desktop when trying to add attributes directly instead of using datasets. This is seen when connecting to an environment that has and needs to use table prefixes when querying the warehouse tables through the Enterprise environment

CAUSE:
This is a known issue with Strategy 10.

WORKAROUND:
The only current workaround requires editing the table read SQL in the Warehouse Catalog to include the table prefix as part of the table name. This can only be done for database platforms that use read SQL instead of ODBC calls and involves writing a function with custom SQL similar to the below.
concatenate(table_prefix_column, . , table_name_column)

The Strategy Internal Reference Number for the issue discussed in this technical note is DE30598.
