How to execute the Repository Translation Wizard from the command line in MicroStrategy 9.x

It is possible to automate the process of importing and exporting strings to and from a translation repository. This is done by generating an XML file with the Repository Translation Wizard and then executing it from command line, as detailed in the steps below:

Generate the XML

  1. Open the Repository Translation Wizard found under Programs > Strategy > Object Manager
  2. Complete the first three steps of the wizard: choose a metadata repository, a translation database, and the action specific properties.
  3. When reaching the logging options window, specify the name and location of the XML file that will contain all the information specified so far.

Execute in Command Line

  1. Open the command line and navigate to the location of the XML file.
  2. Run the command below:

                MARTT2UI.EXE <xml_file_name.xml>

It is also possible to do this in silent mode:

                MARTT2UI.EXE -s <xml_file_name.xml>
