This document shows one issue that "Object variable or With block variable not set" error message appears when attempting to edit one report in MicroStrategy Developer 10.x. This might be because one derived element object associated with this report is lost. Migrating this derived element object from other environment or recreate a new one could be a solution. 

SUMMARY:
This document shows one issue that "Object variable or With block variable not set" error message appears when attempting to edit one report in Strategy Developer 10.x. This might be because one derived element object associated with this report is lost. Migrating this derived element object from other environment or recreate a new one could be a solution. 
 
SYMPTOM:
"Object variable or With block variable not set" error message appears when attempting to edit a report in Strategy Developer 10.x as below:

In DSSErrors.log, there is error entry as below:


2016-06-23 12:58:06.379 [HOST:AKOLAK103][PID:9840][THR:5816][Object Server][Error][0x8004118D] This property is not available unless the template is in a Report Instance which has been processed by the Analytic Engine.

 
CAUSE:
One possible cause is derived element object associated with this report doesn't exist in the project. This object might be lost during object migration.
 
ACTION:
Migrate this derived element object from project backup or other environment, or remove link of the derived element object from the report and recreate new derived element object.
