Accounts are assigned various roles to be used through Strategy Narrowcast 9.x. Each role has specific privileges for a system and with the Narrowcast Administrator. By default, a new account is assigned all four roles. You can assign the following roles to accounts:
• System Administrator - This role has privileges to create, delete, and modify administration objects, including other accounts. The system administrator cannot modify application objects. Each account assigned the system administrator role needs “local administrator” Windows permissions on each distribution manager (DM), execution engine (EE), and Strategy Logging Server (MLS) machine that is part of his Narrowcast Server system.
• Service Designer - This role allows a user to create application objects only, and to modify and delete only those objects created and owned by this user. The service designer cannot modify administration objects. Each account assigned the service designer role needs “log on locally” Windows permissions on his local machine and each distribution manager (DM) machine.
• Application Administrator - This role is used as a super user for application objects. The application administrator can create, delete, and modify all application objects, regardless of who owns them. But despite this, the application administrator cannot modify administration objects. Each account assigned the application administrator role needs “log on locally” Windows permissions on his local machine and each distribution manager (DM) machine.
• Subscription Administrator - This role allows a user to add, delete, and edit information in the Subscription Book, and create and delete subscription sets. Each account assigned the subscription administrator role needs “log on locally” Windows permissions on this local machine and each distribution manager (DM) machine.
