DESCRIPTION:
In Strategy, users can choose to keep their History List messages either in the default File Based format or move to the Database Based History List format. Once a particular method is selected, transitioning from one method to the other requires a new Server Definition because the History List Repository Type information is stored in the Server Definition. However, once the file based History List messages have been moved to the History List repository, porting these messages back to the file based format is not supported.
It is strongly recommeneded to keep a backup of the File Base History List in the event that the users wish to go back from Database Based History List to File Based History List. However, all new messages sent to History after configuring the Database Based History List will be lost.
Note: The current History List Migration utility allows users to port their History List messages from the History List repository to a file based format. This is not supported and should not be used.
An issue has been logged to remove the "-r" option from the History List Migrator tool so to avoid any confusion.
