Creating a value prompt on Dynamic Date results in an object that cannot be added to a report.

SYMPTOM:
A value prompt which is defined based on dynamic dates results in an object that cannot be added to the report, as a result the prompt is unusable.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Create a new prompt and select value prompt
  2. Select Date Prompt
  3. For maximum and minimum values select Dyanmic Dates
  4. Try to add the Prompt to a report and the program does not allow it

CAUSE:
This is a known issue and has been logged with Strategy Technology Team.

WORKAROUND:
To create a filter that will allow a user to select between two dates:

  • Create a filter on Day ID
  • Modify the filter to be between and not exactly
  • For the first date value select prompt and then do the following (Default answer = Today / Min = Today -36 Months / Max = Today)
