How to create a project source using the command line (console mode) in MicroStrategy Intelligence Server Universal?

DESCRIPTION:
The following document explains how to create a project source using the command line (console mode) in Strategy Intelligence Server:

  1. In a UNIX console window, browse to <HOME_PATH> where <HOME_PATH> is the directory that was specified as the home directory during installation.
  2. Browse to the "bin" folder and type ./mstrcfgwiz-editor then press ENTER.
  3. Strategy Configuration Wizard opens in command line mode. Text similar to the text below will appear:

    Welcome to the Strategy Configuration Wizard.  The Strategy
    Configuration Wizard walks you through the process of setting up the
    environment for the Strategy products installed in your system.
    This process is done through creating or editing response files.
    Notice that you will need to press <ENTER> after each step in order to
    proceed.  Default values are applied in some cases. They are
    distinguished by enclosed brackets (i.e. ).  You can apply them by
    pressing <ENTER>.  Finally if you want to exit from the application,
    please press <Q> anytime.Press <ENTER> to continue.


     
     
  4. Press <ENTER>. Text similar to the text below will display:

    The Strategy Configuration Wizard walks you through the process
    of setting up the environment for the Strategy products installed
    in your system. Select the component to be configured from the list
    below.
    1. Use Response file
    2. Create Response file


      
  5. Type '2' to create a response file.Text similar to the text below will display:
     

    Sample Code/Error
    1. Metadata, History List and Statistics Repository Tables
    2. Strategy Intelligence Server
    3. Project Sources


      
  6. Type '3' to create/configure a new project source. Text similar to the text below will display:

    Project Source Name ->

      
  7. Type the project source name, e.g. 'My_ProjectSource'. Text similar to the text below will display:

    Intelligence Server name ->

      
  8. Provide the name of the Strategy Intelligence Server to be used (Note: The fully qualified name or IP address may need to be used), e.g. 'My_Server.corp.Strategy.com'. Text similar to the text below will display:

    TCP Port number ->

      
  9. Type the port number used by the Strategy Intelligence Server, e.g. '34952'. Text similar to the text below will display:

    1. Use login id and password entered by the user (standard authentication)
    2. Use login id and password entered by the user for Warehouse
    (database authentication)
    3. Use Integrated Authentication
    Enter authentication type to use ->


      
  10. Type '1' to use standard authentication. Text similar to the text below will display:

    Response file to be saved ->

      
  11. Type the name of the response file, e.g. 'MyResponseFile.INI'. Text similar to the text below will display:

    Do you want to execute the Response File just created (Y/N) ->

      
  12. Type 'Y' to execute the response file created. Text similar to the text below will display:

    Configuring a new Project Source...
    Step 1 :Creating a new Project Source
    Step 2 :Saving the newly created Project Source
    The configuration procedure has been run successfully.
