KB309472: When Users Change the Servlet Name from mstrWeb the Starburst Dropdown Will Not Function in Microstrategy Web SDK 10.3

SYMPTOM:
Users can alter the servlet name in the Strategy Web application from mstrWeb to one of their choosing by performing the following steps in the following documentation:

After implementing the steps, users will notice the Strategy starburst dropdown will not function. As per KB42370, the servlet value needed to be modified in the Javascript file is in the _Interface plugin in Strategy 9.4.x. However, the Interface plugin has been integrated out-of-box interface in MicroStrategy Web 10.1. The following steps help resolve this issue for Strategy Web 10.3:

1. In the Strategy Web directory, navigate to \javascript\bundles.
2. Open the bone-global.js file to edit it.
3. Modify the following line:
   

   
   if (Strategy.hasSession && (servletName === 'mstrWeb' || servletName === 'Main.aspx') && logo.getAttribute('_isstatic') != 'true') {
   

   
   to:
   

   
   if (Strategy.hasSession && (servletName === 'myServlet' || servletName === 'Main.aspx') && logo.getAttribute('_isstatic') != 'true') {

   
   
4. Save changes and restart the Web Server.

CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy Web 10.3.
ACTION:
The issue was addressed in Strategy Web 10.4 and later.
