File not found

Cause

The RSS Widget or Media Widget cannot communicate with the website that hosts the data Feed.

Action

Verify that the URL pointing to the data feed can be reached by typing the URL directly under the browser. If it is, there may be two options for the widget to access that content:

  1. Uncheck the ‘Use proxy’ option under the widget properties as shown in the screenshot below:

If the webserver hosting the RSS or media data content includes a crossdomain.xml policy file granting the Web client permission to access such content, the widget should render properly.

       2.  If the above is not an option follow these steps:

  • Check the ‘Use Proxy’ option on the Widget properties.
  • Edit resources.xml file located in the WEB-INF/xml/config directory
  • Add the domains you want to allow in between the <allow-domains> tags as shown in the example below:

<allow-domains>   <domain>news.google.com</domain>

</allow-domains>

Note that the domain shouldn’t contain prefixes such as http://

  • Save the file and restart your web server/application server. The widget should now render properly.
