This article list the current cell limit values for iOS MicroStrategy Mobile 10.5 app.

Grid cell limit in iOS Mobile was introduced to provide better stability on the Mobile client, since the memory consumption increases as the number of cells in the grid increases.

The current values for iOS Strategy Mobile app 10.5 are assigned depending on the device type and are as follows:

  1. iPad Pro: 400000 cells
  2. iPad Air2: 200000 cells
  3. iPad Mini4: 200000 cells
  4. iPhone 6S: 200000 cells
  5. Older devices such as iPad Air, iPad 4, iPhone 6, will use 100000 cells as the limit for grids.

The above values are hardcoded and cannot be modified.

If the cell limit is reached when running a report through the Mobile app, the following error will appear:

Report has more than XXXX cells and is too big to be rendered

In order to prevent this issue from happening, the report can be re-design so the amount of cells returned is smaller, by for example moving some attributes to the page-by section of the grid.

The Strategy Internal Reference number for this behavior is US41924.
