KB314005: In MicroStrategy Web, when a foreign language text is used in an HTML container (in a a document) and exported to PDF, the text within the HTML container does not render correctly

SYMPTOM
In MircoStrategy Secure Analytics 10.x, if a foreign language text such as French is used in an HTML container within a report services document, and exported to PDF, the characters do not render properly as shown below:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Create a report services document in Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.x 
2. Insert an HTML container within this document
3. Enter some foreign text (example: French) within the HTML container:
   
   En français Maître Corbeau, sur un arbre perché, Tenait en son bec un fromage. Maître Renard, par l’odeur alléché, Lui tint à peu près ce langage : « Hé ! bonjour, Monsieur du Corbeau. Que vous êtes joli ! que vous me semblez beau
    
4. Run the document in presentation mode to verify that the text looks correct
5. Export the document to PDF from Strategy Web
6. In the exported PDF, it is observed that the text within the HTML container is rendered incorrectly. 

 
CAUSE
This is a known issue in Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.0 - 10.4.
 
ACTION
A fix for this issue will be available in Strategy 10.4 Hotfix 2 and Strategy version 10.6.
