KB315907: Prompt answers do not word wrap when a large number of elements are selected in MicroStrategy Web 10.x when using Chrome

SYMPTOM:
When running prompted reports in Strategy Web, the prompt page will appear for users to select the desired prompt answers. If a large number of elements are selected, the elements should word wrap within the selected window on the prompt page as seen below.

However if the document is executed in Chrome and a large number of elements are selected when prompted in Strategy Web 10.x, the elements do not word wrap. Instead, a horizontal scroll bar appears and the selected elements appear in a single line as seen below.

Note that this issue is not specific to a particular type of prompt. This issue occurs for a number of prompts including qualification and hierarchy prompts.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Create a report with Item.
  2. Add a qualification prompt for Item to the report filter.
  3. Save the report.
  4. Run the report in Chrome.
  5. On the prompt page, click "New Condition."
  6. Set the prompt to "Item Qualify DESC In Value."
  7. Click "Value."
  8. Click "Browse values..."
  9. Add a large number of elements to the Selected window.
  10. Press OK.
  11. Notice the elements selected do not word wrap and instead a horizontal scroll bar appears in the selected window.
  12. Repeat Steps 4 - 10 Internet Explorer.
  13. Notice the selected elements word wrap.

 
CAUSE:
This is an identified defect in Strategy Web 10.x.
 
ACTION:
This issue has been addressed in Strategy Web 10.4. Upgrade to this version to take advantage of this fix.
 
WORKAROUND:
This issue is specific to Google Chrome. Using other web browsers will prevent this issue from occurring.
