Connection to the following sites is available from the client machine:
js.arcgis.com
www.arcgis.com
services.arcgisonline.com
static.arcgis.com
www.microstrategy.com
Port: 80/443
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Install a brand new Strategy Desktop 10.4.
  2. Run Strategy Desktop in the environment with Proxy enabled.
  3. The No Internet connection error is returned when running ESRI map.

CAUSE:
There is a known issue in Strategy Desktop 10.4 that incorrect user agent Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; CIBA) would be detected when users run ESRI map for the very first time. If the user agent MSIE 8.0 / Windows NT 5.1 is blocked by the proxy server, “No Internet connection” would be returned.

ACTION:
This issue has been addressed in MSTR Desktop 10.4.2. Please upgrade to take advantage of the fix.
WORK AROUND:
As a workaround, users can check the network rules in the environment and make sure the user agent Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; CIBA) which stands for Windows XP is not blocked.
