In MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x, the following error message is returned when trying to delete a project: "Project ‘ProjectName’ with ID ‘ProjectID’ cannot be deleted because it is in use by ‘UserName’ on ‘ServerName’ since ‘DateTime’. Please contact your administrator for more information".

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x, the following error message is returned when trying to delete a project:


Project ‘ProjectName’ with ID ‘ProjectID’ cannot be deleted because it is in use by ‘UserName’ on ‘ServerName’ since ‘DateTime’. Please contact your administrator for more information

CAUSE:
This issue may be caused by metadata inconsistency for that specific project.

ACTION:
Run ScanMD on the Metadata for that specific project in fix mode and try to delete the project after that.
