This technical note explains how to display both value and percentage in a pie chart in MicroStrategy Developer Report Services Documents

The following steps describe how to have both the value and percentage displayed in a pie chart in Strategy Developer 9.4.x - 10.x:

  1. In document design mode on the existing graph, set 'Show Values' > 'Values on Slices' as shown below:
  2. Edit the graph again and set the Background to 'Transparent.'
  3. Next, add one more graph by dragging the same report onto the Detail Header again and send that graph to the back of the first graph. For this graph, check 'Show Values as Percentage' and 'Values outside Slices' in Graph Options.
  4. Finally, use the Align > Center, Align > Middle, Size > Tallest, Size > Widest functions to ensure that both graphs are perfectly overlapping each other and run the document, as shown below:
