SYMPTOM:
The following error occurs when using the Service Manager to start the Strategy Intelligence Server Universal 9.x on a Solaris system:
`MSTRExec Error: Exiting with error -1 (0xFFFFFFFF): StartUpManager(): LoadServerDef failed. Return code: 0x80041404.`
The following error is also recorded in the DSSErrors log file:
`Connection::Connection Failed. Unable to connect. Error type: System call error. semget failed: system limit of maximum number of semaphores is exceeded.
Database Error (0x801....) Error (ENOSPC): --- No space left on device. Connection string: DSN=<DSN name>`
CAUSE:
The number of semaphores on the system was exceeded; thus, no new semaphores could be created.
ACTION:
On a Solaris system, the the settings for semmni and semmns values should both be set to 2048. After making this change the Solaris machine should be rebooted.
