KB318869: New Feature in MicroStrateg Secure Enterprise Platform: Delivery of MSTR files via Distribution Services

Starting with Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.6, it is possible to deliver MSTR files through Distribution Services.  MSTR files are self-contained, portable files that can be shared with users and opened with Strategy Desktop or imported into Strategy Web.  For general information on MSTR files refer to the following Knowledge Base document:

As of Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.4, MSTR file is an available export format for individual Visual Insight dashboards from Strategy Web and Strategy Desktop.  Beginning with Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.6, users now have the option to select MSTR as the Delivery format for email and file subscriptions as shown below:

 
Important Notes
MSTR file deliveries are only supported for Visual Insight Dashboards.
MSTR file deliveries (for both file and email subscriptions) are not currently supported under the following circumstances:

• VI dashboards that contain a live-connect cube as a data source. If the objects (metrics/attributes) on an Intelligent Cube have restricted access (via ACLs), such cubes will be implicitly treated as live-connection cubes and hence won't be eligible for use with delivery as an MSTR file. 
   
• If the size of the MSTR file to be delivered exceeds the "Strategy (.mstr) file size (MB)" setting under Project Configuration, the delivery will fail:
  

• If a VI dashboard is built from a cube or dataset based off a cube that exceeds the Maximum cube size allowed for download (MB) setting then the delivery will fail.
