SUMMARY:
This document shows that TM1 data source with security mode 5 is not supported by Strategy MDX Cube provider 10.4. The workaround is to change security mode to 1, 2, or 3.
SYMPTOM:
The following error appears when attempting to connect to TM1 data source with security mode 5 and Strategy MDX Cube provider in Strategy Developer 10.4:

CAUSE:
This is working by design. TM1 data source has 5 possible security modes outlined in the following page:
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SS9RXT_10.2.2/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_inst.10.2.2.doc/c_integratedsecuritymode_param_n0437.html%23IntegratedSecurityMode_param_N0437
Only security mode 1, 2 and 3 are supported but security mode 4 or 5 are not supported in Strategy MDX Cube provider 10.4.
ACTION:
There is one enhancement request logged in Strategy to support security mode 5 in Strategy MDX Cube provider. Contact Strategy Technical Support for the latest update on this request.
WORKAROUND:
Changing TM1 data source security mode to 1, 2 or 3 as workaround.
The Strategy Internal Reference Number for the issue discussed in this technical note is US46312.
