Community Admin

Placeholder •

Data Cloud widget does not render when using MicroStrategy Mobile iOS SDK. When the app is installed from the Apple App Store and configured, the widget renders as expected

SYMPTOM

Data Cloud widget does not render when using Strategy Mobile iOS SDK 10.5 and higher. When the app is installed from the Apple App Store and configured, the widget renders as expected. However, when the iOS SDK is used to compile the Mobile app, the widget is rendered as a grid.

CAUSE

Starting in Strategy Mobile iOS SDK 10.5, the Data Cloud framework has been removed from the default configuration.

ACTION

Additional steps need to be taken for the Data Cloud Widget to render properly in a recompiled Strategy Mobile app. The framework, located in the Library folder of the Strategy Mobile SDK DMG file, needs to be added to the Xcode project upon recompilation. To add a static library containing the widget code to a mobile application, use the following steps:

  1. Open the the Strategy Mobile Xcode project, select Strategy Mobile and specify the target.
  2. On the General tab, scroll down to Linked Frameworks and Libraries and click the add items button “+” below the list of frameworks and libraries.
  3. At the bottom of the pop-up dialog, click Add Other and navigate to the Library folder of the DMG.
  4. Select the MSTRDataCloud.framework click Open.
  5. Recompile the app and the widget should now render as expecated on a mobile device.
