KB319653: Grid column with 0 (zero) width still displays in reports exported to Excel from MicroStrategy Developer

This is a known issue in MicroStrategy Developer. Exporting from MicroStrategy Web does not display the column, as expected.

SYMPTOM:
When the width of a column in report is set to 0, the column still shows if the report is exported to excel from Developer.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  • In Developer, create a report with several attributes and metrics.
  • Go to grid->option->row and column. Set one column width to be fixed as 0. Then this column doesn't show in Developer.

  • Export the report to excel. This column shows again.

CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy Developer.
WORKAROUND:
Export the report from Web.
